Thorlabs was founded in 1989 with a simple mission: make photonics lab equipment more accessible to graduate students and junior professors. At the time, significant mark-ups and long lead times were the norm and we sought to build a loyal customer base using business practices based in speed, transparency, and support. To this day, we have a love for science and an eye toward the future. We work hard to design and manufacture the tools that enable the next great steps in scientific discovery.
